Saturday Morning Goodness – T Bar M Summer Camps {Sponsored}

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post from T Bar M Summer Camps, Christian-based summer camp. We love that they offer both overnight and day camp options for San Antonio kids! Their faith-based curriculum incorporates sports, team building games and swimming – perfect for getting those kids away from the screens and out into the fresh air.

I think God gives us a glimpse of Heaven throughout our lives. One such moment happens every summer when I pick up my kids from T Bar M Camps on Closing Day.

Every week of the summer, each camp at T Bar M Camps has a Closing Day.  For Day Camp, that day is Friday.  For Sports Camp and Camp Travis, that day is Saturday. From that joyous moment I drop my kids off to the day I drive back to camp to pick them up, I wait with anticipation for when I see them again.03a91f1a-c4d6-4fc4-9255-c91c79b2d17b

For the kids and coaches (that’s what T Bar M calls their staff), it is the closing of an AMAZING week that is full of memories, lessons and moments that they have had together. Each moment varies; most are fun, some are precious, some are hard and all are teachable. Each one of them is planned by God.26fc0cd1-54d7-4abc-a0c3-f89ead602631

On that day while the kids are saying their final goodbyes, packing up their things and soaking in the very last ounce of fun, the parents are gathering in anticipation. We dropped our kiddos off six days prior and are anxious and excited to see and hear about the adventures that they have experienced.59cc0357-61ee-4320-8aeb-2802a5c3df7a

This past summer, I experienced Closing Day at Sports Camp.  Allow me to paint a picture. The campers’ families gather on one end of the football field.  On the other end of the field, there is a line of coaches in bright green shirts.  For a few moments, it’s like a standoff … parents facing the coaches and coaches smiling at parents.  It’s obvious that the campers are huddled behind the coaches and they have something planned. 5f4d3a4a-03ca-44c1-9965-44d25c117583

To the campers and parents, it seems like forever until the festivities begin … but actually only a couple of minutes pass.f6c7d397-bd09-4ab8-a022-6ec2efc8a0cd-1

As a parent, we have put total trust into the college student standing in that line. Those coaches have been pouring into our kids, teaching them and sharing the love of Christ with them. We know it is worth the time apart. But now it is time … families are ready to hug and squeeze and see their campers. We are ready to sit and hear every detail of their time at camp. 9f729c83-058b-4e44-b8a0-e7aa341b3c54

The music starts … “Bring Bring Bring it. Bring Bring Bring it…”

The coaches start dancing.

The line of green starts moving forward.

And when we can’t hardly wait anymore, the campers bust through … all 220 of them run towards us.

They RUN.

And we are jumping up and down like a wild person looking to lock eyes with our camper and hug them hard.

It is a chill bump inducing, tear-producing, wonderful ETERNAL moment.
