Vacation, all I ever wanted… Vacation, have to get away! We recently polled our Alamo City Moms Blog contributing team for their favorite places to travel with their families. Without further adieu, here are some of our team’s favorite places to visit:

Jellystone Park Hill Country

Located on 28 acres that are just 35 miles north of San Antonio, this Canyon Lake getaway is perfect for families. “Regardless of the time of year or your specific reason for joining us, it is our mission to help you make great memories in a clean and well maintained camp-resort that reflects family values. If you are looking for a Canyon Lake Campground or a New Braunfels Campground, we are what you are looking for.”

Great Wolf Lodge

This Grapevine, Texas getaway is a great weekend trip for families. It boasts tons of activities for children and adults. There is an 84-degree year-round water park that is sure to delight. Right now there are tons of off-season deals!

Hyatt Lost Pines

The Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa has almost 500 guest rooms nestled in among the beautiful trees in the Texas Hill Country. Along with a variety of restaurants, this resort has tons of amenities and activities, and is a short drive from San Antonio.

The Woodlands Resort

Make a family weekend out of a trip to Houston by staying at this fabulous resort. The City Moms Blog Network recently held a conference at this facility, and we were so impressed by the service, accommodations, and things there are to do for families. (Look for a full review and giveaway coming soon!)

New Orleans

The famous Crescent City is a hop, skip, and jump from San Antonio and a great getaway for San Antonio families. While people tend to think of Bourbon Street, New Orleans has a ton for children to do, too! ACMB Contributor Kelly shared that it is one of her daughters’ favorite destinations.

Playa Del Carmen

Denise shared that this was one of her family’s favorite getaways: “We swam with the whale sharks (amazing, amazing, amazing); helped release baby sea turtles and other adventures. The beach was wonderful. It was incredibly enjoyable and a great way to spend time as a family—staying in one place (all-inclusive), everything taken care of for you, and lots of options.”

Orlando

Several of our contributors have traveled to Orlando, Florida with their families. Several mentioned the fun they had in Disney World (see Taylor’s great post here about tips for doing Disney), and other mentioned that they visited other parks in the area, including staying at the Nickelodeon Resort. There are so many great attractions in this city, making Orlando a definite hot spot for family vacations.

Southern California

This beautiful area of the country is a great place because of the fabulous weather and family-friendly environment. ACMB Contributor Jessica said her family loved Disneyland and Inga mentioned the San Diego Zoo and La Jolla Beaches.
