Alamo City’s Amazing Teacher Contest

“Every child deserves a championan adult who will never give up on him, who understands the power of connection, and insists that he become the best that he can possibly be.”
Rita Pierson

Look! It’s a bird, it’s a plane…no, it’s a SUPER TEACHER!

They are all around us—teachers who amaze us by their selflessness, patience, and kindness day in and day out while working with our children. Teachers spend countless hours preparing lessons, organizing, cleaning, and analyzing how to help every child succeed in the classroom, not to mention the time spent actually teaching. We want to recognize the hard work of our area teachers—just in time for Teacher Appreciation Week in May!

Announcing Alamo City Moms Blog’s Amazing Teacher Contest!

Details: We will be accepting submissions from you, our readers, for Alamo City’s Amazing Teacher Contest. We are looking for local teachers who stand out among the crowd—whether it’s because of their impact on the children and families they work with, their influence on the San Antonio education community, the example they set for other educators, or just their outstanding skills in the classroom, we want to honor San Antonio teachers! It might be your child’s preschool teacher who has helped him overcome his separation anxiety, or your high school student’s teacher who has gone above and beyond to help your teenager learn. Maybe it’s your son’s first-grade teacher who shoots you a text if she notices something is “off” that day, or the speech teacher who has worked diligently with your child. Nominations will also be accepted from parents, colleagues, friends, and even students themselves. Or, if you feel deserving of such an honor (and we know you are!), emailing this post to your class mom or students as a gentle nudge is totally acceptable!

How to Nominate a San Antonio Teacher:

  • Complete our online nomination form here.
  • Please limit submissions to 500 words or less.
  • Submissions will be accepted through 12:00am on April 25th.
  • The Alamo City Moms Blog team will determine the finalists, who will be featured on Alamo City Moms Blog April 27–May 1.
  • On May 1, voting will open up to the public and continue through Wednesday, May 6 at noon.

Nominate your child’s teacher today! One lucky teacher will be treated to a two-night stay at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, complete with spa packages for two, and a family photo session with the talented Amanda of ARG Photographs!
