The Best Solutions for South Texas Allergies

We are excited to welcome and feature our advertising partner Dr. Patricia Gomez Dinger, Board-Certified Allergist & Immunologist, mom of three, and expert in diagnosing and treating allergies and asthma for the whole family.

You know those bluebonnets that decorate our highways so beautifully and make perfect backdrops for family photos? Those same flowers, in such abundance this season, are telling us something many of us can already feel: This is going to be one tough season for allergies. ACMB Vlogger Erin Kirwan talks with Dr. Dinger about what we can expect and how NOT to feel so miserable.

Erin
Never in her wildest dreams would Erin have predicted she would call San Antonio home. But this girl who was born and raised in Delaware (yes, it’s a state!), and lived in New York, Montana, Nebraska and Colorado, is thrilled to do so! Erin and her husband Nate have lived in San Antonio for almost 9 years. They have twin 11-year-old boys (aka the twin tornadoes) and an 8 year old daughter who’s tougher than nails from, well, “tornado” chasing. Erin’s a former TV news anchor and reporter turned stay at home mom turned owner of a boutique public relations company, Savvy Media Marketing and Public Relations. Erin’s also a die-hard sports mom who loves cheering her kids on from the sidelines. Erin also loves to share A Little News & A Lotta Lifestyle, in her blog,Savvy Buzz.

  1. Thanks for the useful information! I am struggling with allergies right now and I’m going to try her recommendations!

  2. I am so extremely happy I viewed this informative video. Going though the Oak and Cedar season makes my family and I very tired, because we use the grocery store brand of Benadryl. This segment really made me think about my children and husband and what they go through, throughout the day. Thank you for posting such an informative and deeply needing segment on allergy season. I felt so confident in what the Dr. was telling me and most of all the interviewer was so professional, she is a newscaster from WOAI news? Thank you so much from a Mommy of four allergy susceptible children and, a wife who has a husband, who suffers as well. I will ask our allergist tomorrow to help us with what Dr. Gomez Dinger suggested. We NEED more video updates from the Alamo City Mom’s Blog.

  3. Love this this. My own children are experiencing these darn symptoms and then the drainage leads to ear infections and sleepless nights for these mommy. Please being a teacher my own students are suffering we’ve gone through lots of tissue boxes these last few weeks.

  4. This was great information I recently moved to SA and my family and I are having a hard time with sinus problems here. Thanks again for this information.

  5. Very informative. I wear contact lenses (extended wear) and I can feel the effects of the pollen after being outside for a period of time, especially when the wind is up. My eyes itch and my chest tightens. I have to clean my contacts more often. I’ll try the nasal spray. Are there allergy drops for the eyes? I plan to seek out those bluebonnet fields too. Enjoyed the video!

    • Hi Rene! I’m sorry the oak is bothering your eyes. One of the eye drops Dr Dinger recommended is an OTC called Zaditor. I use it and it helps tremendously! Feel better soon.
