Are you the next ACMB Team Member?

Alamo City Moms Blog is growing!

It’s an exciting time for us over at ACMB, and we are thrilled to announce that we are expanding our team! Here’s what some of our team members have to say about being part of ACMB:

The world of mothering seems, on occasion, a vast and occasionally lonely place. Being a part of the ACMB team gives me a diverse community, a veritable tribe, of moms who I can turn to, trust, and share with. Being part of ACMB gives me the capacity to reach out, share and bring more moms into our community.

Joining ACMB has been the kick I needed to jumpstart my writing again. It’s encouraged me to speak my mothering truths in a kind and gentle way. I feel like I can repay the many women who went before me through writing my posts about motherhood. I’ve met kindred sisters on various legs of their proverbial mothering journey and made so many new friends.

I found ACMB while searching for San Antonio playgrounds. They were looking for contributors, so I applied. I was looking for a creative outlet. What I didn’t expect to find was a group of sisters. These women have blown me away with their love and acceptance. They are all so talented and genuine. I can bounce any thought or idea off these ladies and get honest, thoughtful, and respectful feedback. I also love how connected ACMB is to the community. There is always something to do, and because of this blog, I always have something fun to do with my family!

ACMB has helped me grow as a writer by encouraging me to write on a broader range of topics — especially through the Perspectives posts. The female fellowship among the contributors is wonderful. My favorite goodie bag so far has been the one that had cookies . . . AND vodka. Being an ACMB contributor gives me clout and standing in the community when interacting with public figures, local nonprofits, and print publications. ACMB events provide so much support for local businesses and for moms who are new to our city.

I missed having a creative outlet since becoming a full time mom, and I knew I would never motivate myself to write again without a deadline. Since joining the team, I’ve not only regained that motivation to write that I was seeking but I also have gained a community that I wasn’t expecting – both from my fellow contributors and from the readers of the blog. I love interacting with these precious moms who will laugh with me, cry with me, and pray for me when I share those details of my story that otherwise might never have seen the light of day. I also love being “in the know” about openings and events going on around the city before the general population. Living in the boonies (ok, it’s the suburbs,) I really felt disconnected from many of the activities in central San Antonio. (Kendall county represent!)

Being a part of ACMB is truly being a member of a team. It’s a team that supports me and wants me to be my best – not just at writing, but at life. The camaraderie makes for better writing, as we share our different perspectives on and approaches to parenting, they push me beyond myself and my singular perspective.

So what are you waiting for?
