SIMPL Pool and Pest: Making Pest Control and Pool Cleaning Simple!

As fast as summer slipped away and the cooler-ish weather of fall crept in, we still have yet to experience the real cold weather of late fall/early winter. I’m not complaining because I’m still able to wear my boots and sweaters. I’m just looking forward to my favorite part of our short cold season in Texas: the almost complete absence of bugs—specifically, mosquitoes, followed closely by cockroaches and fleas. This weird, wet, cool-then-warm “fall” we’ve been experiencing has done a really fabulous job of giving the bugs around my house an incredible leg up on their reproduction habits* (*non-scientific fact there, completely anecdotal).

So when SIMPL Pool and Pest offered to come treat my home—inside and out—for bugs and give the pool a good cleaning, I was happier than the day Peppermint Lattes hit the Starbucks drive-thru. They arrived promptly, explained everything I needed to know about the products they were using (kid- and pet-safe after they dry!), and got to making my house and yard beautifully bug free, even if my dead tomatoes are ruining that beauty.

Brie supervised the process from inside the house while the back yard was treated—first, with a hand-applied treatment all over the grass and then with a spray along the perimeter of the house and all of the windows. Then the technician moved inside the house to spray, leaving no nook or cranny untreated.

Meanwhile, my pool, ravaged from the recent rain and storms, received a much-needed cleaning. All of the leaves, debris, and ick were brushed, scooped, and sucked out, leaving it sparkling. If the water temperature hadn’t already dropped too much, I would have enjoyed a nice afternoon swim! A week later, it still looks beautiful, aside from some new leaves that have blown in from the windy weather.

You know what I’m thankful for? Cool fall weather I can enjoy without being bombarded by bugs and a clean pool!
