Holiday Magic at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort & Spa

Alamo City Moms Blog is excited to have partnered with the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort & Spa to share information with San Antonio families about a stay at this hotel during the holidays.

This year is the “Christmas magic” year in our house. Vivi is totally into the mystery of Santa, the North Pole, the elves, the Christmas parties, and the giving and receiving of gifts. We recently had the opportunity to visit the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa to experience their “Texas Hill Country Christmas,” and it did not disappoint! The hotel is dressed in its finest holiday attire, from entry to courtyard, complete with giant trees, polar bears and penguins along the creek, and elves around every corner.

The JW’s Hill Country Christmas is chock full of activities for the family—from building gingerbread houses and writing letters to Santa, to pictures or breakfast with the big guy himself, to a nightly light show—but the highlight for Vivi was the “Making of a Certified JW Marriott San Antonio Elf.”

After getting properly attired and choosing a special elf name (I voted for “Tinsel,” but Vivi picked “Elsa”), the JW Elves taught their elves-in-training all about the magical and mischievous lives and jobs of an official elf.

After a lesson in “elfness,” including the three elf rules and how to pose like an elf, each elf-in-training was given a certificate naming him/her an official JW Elf.JWMarriotChristmas2015-5

Vivi said her favorite part was making a gift to give someone special and “hanging out with the super nice elves.” We loved  the extra magic it brought to our holiday season.

The full listing of all the JW Hill Country Christmas activities can be found on their website. I have a feeling that a trip, either overnight for a mini staycation or just for the day, will be a highly anticipated family tradition for many years to come.
