Passionate About San Antonio
and the Moms Who Live Here

Meet the ACMB Team

Amanda, Co-Owner

amanda resized

Amanda is a mama to #hurricaneVivi and wife to her college sweetheart, Francois. In addition to ACMB, she owns and runs a boutique photography studio with a focus on early child hood imagery – which ties perfectly into her MEd.  She loves entertaining, crafting, DIYing, and making messes that involve glitter. Her favorite color is sparkle, and she’s never met a croissant she didn’t love. You can follow along with Amanda’s life behind the lens over on her blog, ARG Photographs, and on her home and DIY blog, Handmade Mood.

Lindsay, Co-Founder and Co-Owner

lindsay resized

A native New Orleanian, Lindsay found her way to the Alamo City via her husband, Steven, who is a born and raised San Antonian. She is mom to two little men, ages 5 and 2, and a little girl, who was born in the fall of 2016. Lindsay earned her B.A. in Psychology from Rhodes College and her M.A. in Early Childhood Education from UTSA. She was a preschool and first-grade teacher for 10 years and is now a Reading Specialist and Dyslexia Therapist. She loves her family, her hometown, and working with children.

Brooke, Co-Founder and Advisor

brooke resized

Brooke graduated from high school right here in San Antonio. After 12 years of living everywhere from Colorado to Greece, London to Atlanta, she and her husband made San Antonio their home and have become parents to a daughter and son. Brooke loves finding undiscovered activities around the city and dragging her kids along! She is a runner, an amateur cook who loves trying out San Antonio’s growing culinary scene, and is actively involved in nonprofit organizations in San Antonio.

America, Sales Coordinator

America resized

America is a San Antonio native and proud Longhorn alumna. After working in advertising in NYC, traveling, and teaching abroad, she thought her return to San Antonio 10 years ago was only temporary. Then she met a cowboy with an equally unusual name, and the rest is history. He thinks life beyond Texas is dreadful, while America dreams of traveling again…one day. They have three kiddos ages 7 and under. America now finds herself surviving on coffee, driving her kids around town, and questioning her parenting skills while working from home.

Heather, Community Events Specialist

Heather re-sized

Heather was born and raised in San Antonio and became a mom in 2013 when her son, Luca, was born. She enjoys the outdoors, even mowing her own lawn. She and her husband, Santiago, look forward to raising a feminist boy with a heart for cars, trains, airplanes, and all modes of transportation. Her professional experience since graduating from Tufts University with a degree in art history includes working for a variety of arts and cultural nonprofit organizations. She recently quit her day job to be a stay-at-home mom. Her dream job is to work for Sesame Workshop or be President of the United States. In the meantime, Heather enjoys filling her family’s weekends with the diversity San Antonio has to offer.

Inga, Business Manager

Inga resized

Inga is passionate about parent-driven education: helping parents be the best advocates for their children, finding the right schools (or homeschooling resources), and enjoying San Antonio’s variety of arts and cultural events for families—look for the hashtag #ingagetsaround. She was born in California but has called Texas home since high school. She works as a school analyst for Families Empowered and also blogs at San Antonio Charter Moms. Her nine-year-old son, F.T., and seven-year-old daughter, G.N., attend a public charter school in the heart of the city. She married a techie and is a bit of a geek herself.

Jennelle, Projects Coordinator

Jennelle

Jennelle grew up in Katy, TX but found her way to San Antonio via Trinity University. She adores San Antonio and the life she and her husband have built here. Together they are raising two rambunctious boys as proper Alamo City natives which includes having an affinity for Tex-Mex and respectable Fiesta medal collections. The family unit is rounded out by their energetic border collie-lab mix, Oreo. When not honing her Lego skills or learning how to play Hotwheels, she’s active in various non-profit organizations and enjoys musical theater, outside dining, reading, and literally Netflixing & chilling.

Michelle, Partnership Coordinator

Untitled design (29)

Michelle has lived in San Antonio since 2009.  She grew up in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and graduated from Texas A&M.  After two years in North Carolina and six years in Minnesota, she returned to Texas. Michelle has two kids and a very high maintenance rescue dog. She is a former corporate food scientist turned yoga instructor and ACMB team member. She still takes her food very seriously—she just doesn’t get paid for it anymore. When she’s not cooking, practicing yoga, mothering, or cleaning, you’ll find her curled up with a cup of hot tea and a book.

Taylor, Copy Editor

Untitled design (7)

Taylor is San Antonio native and stay-at-home mom to her seven-year-old daughter, Harper, and awesome bulldog. She and her Okie husband, Jeff, have been married 10 years despite their Texas/OU rivalry. Taylor is a former Clark Cougar, a devout Texas Longhorn, where she studied English, an active MOPS member, and often feels like a professional juggler. She relishes trips to the theater, loves embarking on new adventures with her family, and admittedly spends too much time on Facebook. If you run into her at HEB, she most likely will be wearing jeans, running shoes, and a baseball cap and hopes you won’t judge. She often writes about the challenges of parenting her tenacious, strong-willed daughter, whose daily “Harperisms” are the light of her life, as well as her passion for party planning, traveling, and discovering new hot spots in the Alamo City.

Tori, Graphic Designer

Tori

Tori is originally from Florida, but has traveled across the United States with her husband, Jeremy, for the past 10 years. She recently moved from Los Angeles to San Antonio two years ago and has been enjoying exploring the City. She is a mom of two boys, Brendan (7) and Ryan (4). She graduated from University of Central Florida with her B.A. in Psychology and taught second grade until her oldest was born.  She launched her craft blog, Tori Grant Designs, back in 2012.  Her creative projects have been featured on websites such as GoodHousekeeping.com, HouseBeautiful.com, and CountryLiving.com. She has been a design contributor for such companies like Silhouette America and Crafts Unleashed. Her blog has opened the door for one of her true passions, graphic design. She currently owns her own design company where she works with fellow bloggers and small businesses creating brand identities. In her spare time she loves photography, watercolor, attempting Pilates and beating all the men in her household in video games.

Amanda

Amanda R. resized 2

Amanda is a native Texan who spent a few years in the Boston area. New to the stay-at-home mom gig, she’s mother to a five-year-old wilding and a two-year-old diva. When not trying to herd cats, she runs a doula agency, Journey to Motherhood, and works as a birth doula and childbirth educator. She has been married to her husband for almost six years, which also means learning the ways of being a military spouse. Upon his return from his first deployment in their relationship, she surprised him by proposing to him when she finished her first half marathon (more like she held up a ring and he said yes). Their honeymoon was a babymoon (oops) to Italy, followed by another deployment, building a new home, and having another child. Much time at home is spent cultivating a medicinal and vegetable garden (she’s a modern hippie), reading all kinds of books (everyone is a book nerd), crafting cocktails (because two kids), documenting shenanigans on Instagram, and holding spontaneous dance parties in the living room.

Amy

amy j resized

Amy Johnson is a work-at-home mama of four kids, ages 11, 8, 6, and 4. She’s lived in San Antonio for over 15 years and has a degree in English from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Previously a program director at a local literary arts nonprofit, she began blogging as a creative outlet when she became a stay-at-home mom. Now a freelance writer and crafter, Amy believes in the power of handmade, secondhand, and eco-friendly living. Her favorite craft store is the thrift store, and she shares DIY and creative reuse ideas on her blog, Maker Mama.

Ariana

ariana resized

Ariana grew up in San Antonio but left home to attend the University of Florida (Go Gators!), where she met and fell in love with her best friend and future husband. Justin’s professional pursuits brought them back to San Antonio, via grad school for them both at UT Austin. Happily calling the Alamo City home for more than a decade, the new parents welcomed a baby girl, Anabel, into their lives this past January and are excited to share the city they love with her. Ariana works as a communications and marketing director for a local nonprofit and is already counting down the days to next year’s Fiesta! She occasionally maintains her blog Corkscrew Curiosity.

Bridget

bridget resized

Bridget was born and raised in San Antonio and moved back after college and law school. She is a full-time litigator and recently married her other half, Nik, who is also a lawyer. She has two stepchildren, “Dude” (age 12) and “Dudette” (age 9). She is a new mom to a baby girl, who was born in March 2016. Bridget drastically traded in her longtime single career-girl life for that of wife and mom and is loving the fulfillment of her new home life as well as the crash course in being a mom. Together Bridget’s new family has adjusted to a whole new world, and more changes are expected to come!

Candice

candice resized

Candice Curry is a born-and-raised San Antonio mother of five. She is Brandon’s wife of ten years, and together they are raising their babies to love the Lord, be kind, and give back. Stiles, age 16, is their oldest daughter. Myleigh, Justin, and Bella are their nine-year-old triplet girls, and late at night they rock their two-year-old baby boy, James. They just welcomed Candice’s teenage sister, Victoria, into their home as one of their own, bumping up their kid count to six. Candice recently traded in her career life to be a full-time stay-at-home mommy, and when she is not loving on her husband and babies she plans on writing and sharing her faith. When she grows up she wants to own an ice-cream truck and travel around Texas selling ice cream with her family. In 2011, Candice started her Women With Worth ministry, where she writes about anything and everything that is on her heart, and is in the process of writing her first book.

Celina

Celina resized

Celina is a “professional volunteer,” serving on multiple nonprofit boards and advisory groups. In her former life she started a nonprofit, which she left last year in the most capable of hands where it continues to thrive. In another past life she was a host and reporter for Texas Public Radio. She’s a native Texan and lifelong San Antonio girl. She attended school in Chicago, where all she did was talk about how great Texas is. Her husband, Luke, is her high-school sweetheart and the most supportive spouse you’ll ever meet. They have two children, whom words can’t currently describe, but keep reading and you’ll get a pretty good idea of who they are becoming.

Christy

christy resized

Originally from St. Louis, Christy moved to San Antonio to attend Trinity University. She ended up meeting her Air Force husband and has been on the move ever since. After living halfway across the world, she is back in San Antonio. Christy has a background in pediatric psychology and although she teaches as an adjunct professor, most of her mad behavioral skills are used on her three small children. Christy loves to be active and spends her time running, swimming, and playing with her kids. She is an amateur DIYer and will attempt any and all projects. She likes to stay up late and get up early, so you may find her internet shopping at midnight, running before the sun comes up, and enjoying iced coffee in between!

Dawn

Dawn resized

An Army brat who found her way to Texas for college and ultimately managed to make the Lone Star State her permanent home, Dawn became a mom “AMA” (advanced maternal age), giving her the opportunity to use a stroller vs. a walker as she navigates the world of motherhood. Her six-year-old native Texan keeps loves all things Star Wars, Legos, dinosaurs and keeping his parents on their toes. When she’s not busy parenting the original strong-willed child, Dawn works in public relations and dreams of listening to something other than the “pew, pew, pew” of Star Wars/dino/Lego battles  coming from her backseat. Dawn and her little family live in Schertz, which isn’t the other side of the world from San Antonio, despite what some people may think. They enjoy exploring all that San Antonio has to offer, going on adventures and playing tourist together as much as possible.

Denise

denise resized

Denise came to San Antonio 21 years ago via Southern Illinois, NYC, and Philadelphia. A wife for 25+ years, she’s Mom to nursing student Sis (23), college student Felicia (20), and 11-year-old homeschooled Batman. An attachment parenting family, they’ve homeschooled for 13 years. Her MS in education and BS in journalism haven’t really helped with homeschooling—except for diagraming sentences, which is kinda like algebra: addictive and useless. A renaissance woman (sounds better than “Jill of all trades, mistress* of none”), she’s been an AIDS/sexuality educator/counselor; doula; lactation consultant; childbirth educator; photographer; and writer. She’d like to be more things when she grows up, including a children’s author and organized. A work in progress in Helotes, theirs is home to horses, rescued/foster dogs, a hedgehog, turtles, a bearded dragon, a corn snake, and, of course, Red, the neighbor’s longhorn. Life is like a warped Disney movie with a bad episode of Tripawd Hoarders waiting to happen. The home may be chaotic, funny, and loud—but, there’s always room for one more. (*mistress—1. as in, the feminine form of “master”; 2. not the other one.)

Denisse

denisse resized

Denisse grew up in the South Texas border town of Mission, where she met her best friend and future husband, Ian. After going to college at Texas A&M University, she and Ian were married and moved to San Antonio, where she worked as a preschool special education teacher. She loved her job but decided her heart was at home after having her first baby. Two more children and 12 years later, she still loves being married to Ian and being a stay-at-home mom to their three kids. Denisse loves coffee and taking naps. She writes at denissewarshak.com.

Elizabeth

Untitled design (22)

Elizabeth is a native Texan and stay-at-home mom to a three-year-old human hurricane in pigtails and a one-year-old son who is currently jockeying for the title of world’s biggest mama’s boy. She has been married to her husband, who lives in perpetual denial of the fact that he is, in fact, a Yankee, for eight long (and wonderful!) years. Together they have renovated a historical home with their own little hands (never again), braved the winters of New York (and decided they’d rather not), and discovered a profound and binding love of travel (without the children, that is). They currently reside in Fair Oaks Ranch, where they are surrounded by family and deer.

Erin

Erin resized

Never in her wildest dreams would Erin have predicted she would call San Antonio home. But this girl, who was born and raised in Delaware (yes, it’s a state!) and lived in New York, Montana, Nebraska, and Colorado, is thrilled to do so! Erin and her husband, Nate, have lived in San Antonio for almost nine years. They have twin 11-year-old boys (aka: the twin tornadoes) and an eight-year-old daughter who’s tougher than nails from, well, “tornado chasing.” Erin’s a former TV news anchor and reporter turned stay-at-home mom turned owner of a boutique public relations company, Savvy Media Marketing and Public Relations. She is also a die-hard sports mom who loves cheering on her kids from the sidelines. Erin also loves to share a little news and a lot of lifestyle in her blog, Savvy Buzz

Erin

erin resized 2

Erin is a born and raised San Antonio native. She is a proud graduate of Southwestern University, St.Mary’s University and Texas Tech University. After 400 hundred years of graduate school and four degrees later, she married the love of her life and moved back to town. Together, they are attempting to raise two crazy, tiny humans (4 1/2 and almost 2) who make life fun, happy and hard. Erin is a licensed marriage and family therapist, adjunct professor at St. Mary’s University and a professional coffee drinker. She is a lover of all things involving food, music, sarcasm and wine. And love. There must be lots of love.

Ginger

ginger resized

Ginger has lived in San Antonio off and on for the last two decades between sojourns in Europe and Asia. She moved here from Chicago after marrying her high school sweetheart and the military life. Her two amazing teens are incredibly grateful that their parents have chosen to finally settle down in one place so they can attend a school for more than two years. Having grown up in a big urban area, Ginger is amazed that you can live in the city and enjoy so much wildlife out your backdoor. When not enjoying a glass of wine on her back porch, Ginger joins her family at rock concerts (with earplugs) and amusement parks as well as on hikes and other teen-friendly outdoor fun. Still trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up, she currently spends her work time helping families as a lactation consultant and parenting educator.

Jessica

Jessicar resized

Jessica was born in Florida but also lived in the Midwest, on the East Coast, and in Los Angeles, before finally moving to San Antonio two years ago. She was in the last semester of a graduate program in English Literature when she found out she was pregnant with her first daughter. (Which means, gentle reader, she finished her studies with neither coffee nor wine! Be amazed!) This last September, she and her husband, a San Antonio native, welcomed their second daughter. In her previous lives, Jessica has been a college professor, an actor, and a restaurant manager. She feels incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to stay at home with her girls right now while they are young. She is currently in the early stages of turning her obsession with taking pictures of her own children into a modest photography venture, Mewborne Photography.

Jill

Jill resized

Jill Robbins is a wannabe wine snob and lazy runner. She moved to San Antonio when she was 18 months old, so she considers herself a native. She has a degree in social psychology, which so far has been unhelpful in understanding the behavior of her husband and three children. She’s lived all over the world: the Midwest, England, and Germany, and she’s excited to be back in her hometown but still trying to get used to the heat and humidity again. She writes about adoption, motherhood, and midlife on her blog, Ripped Jeans and Bifocals, and freelances for various magazines and websites such as The Huffington Post, She Knows, Babble, and Scary Mommy. She was part of the 2015 cast of Listen to Your Mother, Austin and really likes coffee. A lot. You can follow Jill on Facebook and Twitter.

Katie

katie resized

Katie is a small town girl raising a family in the big city. She grew up in Abilene surrounded by strong women and one patient father. She met the love of her life at only 17, and they both later graduated from McMurry University and moved to San Antonio in 2004. Katie was part of San Antonio’s inaugural Listen to Your Mother show in 2016 and is a happy working mom of three kids. Katie loves to talk about shoes, podcasts, rescue dogs, and her family of mostly redheads. She is held together daily by espresso and Jesus.

Lisa

lisa resized

Though Lisa grew up in San Antonio, she has spent the latter part of her life in different states and countries serving on Young Life staff and in ministry with her husband, Bryce, only to make her way back when her husband landed a job here two years ago. Life has taken many twists and turns for the Wallers, but they are thankful to be back in Texas and love exploring San Antonio, especially the city’s up-and-coming restaurant scene. Lisa is mom to Liam (7), Ryan (5), and Emma (2). She loves adventuring and exploring the city with her family, running, writing (obvi), and cooking (or acting as sous chef for the hubs while he cooks). She loves the Lord, and though a ragamuffin at best, is trying to raise her kids to love the heck out of Jesus.

Molly

molly resized

Molly is a recent San Antonio transplant, originally hailing from the Idaho tundra and most recently the Washington D.C. metro area. Besides avoiding the giant question mark that is surviving their first Texan summer, she and her husband are doing their best to keep up with two energetic children, a nine-year-old daughter and five-year-old son who alternately drive them crazy and melt their hearts. Molly is a yogi and pastry-turned-clean-eating chef who describes herself as a “creative dabbler.” She spends her days teaching yoga, writing, and photographing healthy recipes, power-lifting, rocking lip-sync battles with her kids, and playing outside. She recently did a front handspring for the first time ever, can’t stop talking about it, and has concluded it couldn’t hurt to leave space for future “professional gymnast” on her life’s resume.

Natalie

Natalie resized

Natalie comes from a long line of Texans and has been slowly working her way down I-35, with stops in Waco to earn a degree in public relations/journalism at Baylor, and in Austin for work. She and her husband Will plan on making San Antonio the last stop on the trans-Texas tour, especially after last year’s big event: welcoming the world’s most delightful daughter, Noelle, to their family right here in the Alamo City. Natalie enjoys using her marketing and PR brain to build her husband’s law practice; keep snacks on the table and craft beer in the fridge; and generate new ideas for ACMB and her own blog To Drink and Write.

Rosalinda

Rosalinda resized

I am a Texas born, small town girl who always felt like I had lived other lives in other places. I went off to college and somehow ended up in beautiful San Antonio. Soon I met my future husband who had lived other lives in other places. After we married, we moved out of state. Once I had my little souvenir, we moved back to Texas with my baby boy. Later, we added a daughter to complete our family. My son is now 12, and my daughter is six.  I work full-time as a school librarian and, on occasion, find time to do a little traveling and a little sleeping.

A huge thank you to ARG Photographs for taking these photos of our team members.
