Motherhood: More Than Skin Deep—Call for San Antonio Moms

MOTHERHOOD- (1)

In honor of Mother’s Day, Alamo City Moms Blog will be celebrating the changes that women go through—mentally, emotionally, and physically—when they become mothers.

As part of this series, we want to capture and celebrate what motherhood looks like and the beautiful ways our bodies change when we become moms. This includes moms who earned the honor by giving birth, adopting, or becoming step-parents, as we all sacrifice when we become parents. This series will run in celebration of Mother’s Day, and we want the women in our community to be part of it by running an image gallery featuring photos of you!

We will hold a photo shoot on Saturday, April 4 between 9:00 A.M.–1:00 P.M. If you are interested in being photographed, please sign up for one of the half-hour slots below. These pictures will reflect how our bodies that have been transformed by motherhood and express that beautiful isn’t defined by what the media might tell us; the beauty of motherhood is more than skin deep. If you are a mother, a grandmother, a mom-to-be, a step-mother, or there is someone who calls you “Mom,” we would love to have you sign up to participate. We want to showcase bodies of all shapes and sizes through this photo shoot because we believe that is the beauty of motherhood and that “normal” is a relative term. There is no charge to participate; we simply want to know how many people to expect.

If you do join us, here are some ideal outfits for the shoot:

1. Yoga pants and a sports bra or tank top
2. Modest pair of bra and panties
3. Bathing suit

Please make sure the clothes you choose to wear are dark-colored or black and solid (no prints), as the photographs will be black and white and set against a white backdrop. We can be creative and hide faces if you’d prefer not to show your face in a picture.

If you would like to be photographed with your children, please bring them along! They are most certainly welcome. We look forward to seeing you and sharing this incredible event!
