Make Easy Money Before School Starts and Save Big On Kids’ Clothing

Alamo City Moms Blog is excited to have our sponsor from Rhea Lana’s Children’s Consignment share more about her upcoming event. Her team is hosting a resale extravaganza on the northwest side of San Antonio during tax-free weekend. She’d like to inform our community on how to to make money by selling, saving big on shopping, and volunteering.

Hello, San Antonio moms! Have you heard the news? We at Rhea Lana’s of Northwest San Antonio are hosting our semi-annual Children’s Consignment Event in just a few weeks! Our “Back-to-School—Fall Extravaganza” will be our biggest and best yet! We’re hoping you’ll join the FUN! Here are three ways you can get involved:

1. Become a consignor.

Consigning is easy! Just sign up on our website. From there, you can enter the items you’d like to sell. We accept all things your kids have gently loved, including clothes (birth through teens, as well as maternity), shoes, books, toys, baby gear & equipment, outdoor toys, movies, and more. We recommend that you price your items at 30% of retail. We also suggest that you agree to let them be sold at half-price during the final day of our event (half is better than none, right?). At the end of the event, you may either pick up anything that did not sell or donate unsold items to the local charities that partner with us.

And the best part of consigning? You’ll earn 70% of your sales! Our average consignor makes over $350—whoa! Wouldn’t that be a nice bonus right before school starts?! We’ll have your check ready to pick up on August 11.

2. Become a volunteer.

Our events would not be possible without the help of our volunteers! No experience is necessary to join our team, and we have a place for everyone to get involved. Opportunities include helping consignors check their items into our store, merchandising toys and shoes, greeting shoppers, helping folks check out, and sorting items after the event. We even have “dad” shifts available to help with moving in/out, carrying heavy purchases for customers, and security. In exchange for your help, you’ll earn early shopping passes to attend our Private Pre-Sale on August 6th, so you can shop before we open to the public. Plus, we’re a FUN team to work with, and we think you’ll enjoy the Rhea Lana’s experience! The more volunteer shifts you work, the earlier you can shop! Ready to sign up? Click HERE.

3. Become a shopper.

You’ll enjoy shopping THOUSANDS of high-quality, gently-used, name-brand and boutique items at a fraction of retail prices! Our store is clean and well organized, and our friendly volunteers will be ready to help you find what you’re looking for. Stock up on all your baby needs, clothes for school, costumes, holiday attire, shoes, toys, books, and MORE. You will be thrilled with the quality of our items, and you’ll love the savings! Mark you calendar and bring a friend! Our event takes place August 7–10 (see the full schedule on our website), and you’ll find us at 1604 & Bandera, next to Target (formerly Office Max).

Are you a mom-to-be (through birth or adoption) or a part of our military? We have a special shopping time reserved just for you during our Private Pre-Sale. Moms-to-be get your pass here. We’ll post our military pass on our Facebook page and via email.
