As I surveyed the purge pile, I wanted to know exactly what kind of money I could expect to get through consigning with the Just Between Friends Sale. I spoke with the team behind JBF to find out what the top dollar items are at October’s sale and how I could price accordingly. Consignors make 60% of their sales, less a $10 consignor fee. If you volunteer to work the event, you earn 70%, minus the $10 consignor fee. If you are volunteering and volunteered at their previous event (in this case, in spring of 2015), your $10 consignor fee is waived. Generally, items sell from 25–50% of the original price depending on the condition.
Here are the top 10 items that bring in the most cash at a consignment sale:

Sales Price: $10.00–$120.00+ (depending on the item and its condition)
Items: slides, play houses, sand tables, water slides, bikes, ride-on toys, wagons
2. Kids’ Furniture
Sales Price: $10.00–$150.00+ (depending on the item and its condition)
Items: cribs, changing tables
3. Shoes
Sales Price: up to $30 for higher-end shoes (e.g., Ugg boots or specialty shoes) or up to $20 for other shoes
4. Baby Transportation
Sales Price: up to $80 for single strollers (more for specialty or boutique) or up to $150 for double strollers (more for specialty or boutique)
Items: strollers, carriers, car seats
5. Baby Gear
Sales Price & Items: up to $45 for bouncy seats, up to $60 for swings, and up to $120 for pack ‘n’ plays
6. Toys
Sales Price: varies, depending on item and condition
Items: Legos, American Girl dolls, American Girl furniture
7. Books, Movies, & Electronic Games
Sales Price: varies, depending on title and condition
