The Texas Folklife Festival, the signature event of the Institute of Texan Cultures, is once again ready to bring Texas’ great multicultural heritage to life for the 45th year. A San Antonio favorite for parents and kids alike, this three-day, fun-filled extravaganza showcases Texas’ diversity, strength and rich heritage. Five stages provide constant music and dance that radiate energy throughout the grounds. Add in delectable dishes, arts and craft vendors, and hands-on activities, and it really is a weekend of fun for the entire family.

One walk through the grounds at this year’s Texas Folklife Festival will reveal enough food, events, and games to keep every member of the family entertained. When you’re ready to roll up your sleeves, head to the Back 40 for a relaxed, interactive experience your kids will love. Sign up for the Luling Watermelon Thump Seed-Spitting Contest, take a Hawaiian Hula lesson, or take in a trick roping demonstration. This is where you’re more likely to get pulled on stage to take part in the dance than just watch from the sidelines. Come be a part of the fun! Tickets are available online.
