May Your House Always Be…

A blessing from my house to yours…

May your house always be big enough for extra friends and family to gather in.

May it be big enough to safeguard the things and memories that you hold dearest from your loved ones.

May it be big enough for your family to have hobbies to share and messy projects to try.

May it be big enough for differing opinions and respectful discussions.

May it be big enough to have a messy spot that you can hide from guests.

May it be big enough to hold lessons learned from music, art, sports, and culture.

May it be big enough to offer acceptance and forgiveness to all those who need it.

May it be big enough to give those with different personalities their own peace and quiet.

May it be big enough to require an “all-hands-on-deck” approach to keep the ship sailing.

May it be big enough for your children to come home to after they have gone out and seen the world.

May your house always be small enough to never allow your family to feel distant from one another.

May it be small enough that you only keep the things that are useful, meaningful, and necessary.

May it be small enough to be a safe haven when the world seems too ugly or cruel.

May it be small enough to help you remember that the most important things aren’t “things.”

May it be small enough that you can’t help but snuggle together every once in a while.

May it be small enough to maintain the bubble of values that are most important to your family.

May it be small enough to still leave margin in your budget for adventures and random acts of kindness.

May it be small enough to be easily filled with laughter and encourage imagination.

May it be small enough to remind you that the grass is only greener where you water it.

May it be small enough that your family has to not only live together, but learn to love one another.
