Welcoming 2017 With The DoSeum

ACMB is thrilled to partner with The DoSeum and share information about their 2017 programs and events in this sponsored post.

Soaring into 2017 at The DoSeum

It’s a new year, and local gem The DoSeum has a calendar full of hands-on learning opportunities, celebrations, and unique events for the families of San Antonio. It’s no secret that we at ACMB are loyal DoSeum fans. We love having a place available year-round, rain or shine (or when it’s 100+ degrees out), where our kids can climb, build, learn, create, and even sleuth.

In 2017, the DoSeum is continuing their fantastic line-up of Early Childhood Learning Programs, Camps (Spring Break camps sign up in January!), Sensory-Friendly Hours, HEB Free Family Night, and ReDo Recess.

New this year is a Share the Love Toy Drive in February, Super Saturdays (coming in the spring), and an incredible summer program: Summer of Tech. Summer of Tech will run June 4–September 5 and includes the digiPlaySpace™ traveling exhibit and unique innovative tech programs like a city-wide kids coding challenge, tech fair, lecture series, and special camps.

Throughout the summer of 2017, The DoSeum will partner with local innovators to create digiPlaySpace™, an exhibit that will inspire children to actively engage in the world of technology so they can take part in San Antonio’s innovative future.

digiPlaySpace™ features never-before-seen, large-scale interactive installations designed to flex kids’ media muscles in an indoor adventure where kids control the world’s most fun and freshest collection of learning-centric games from internationally acclaimed children’s media artists. Kids and their parents can go on an interactive adventure, laughing and learning while playing rich educational games, trying hand-on installations, and experimenting with new media technologies. Kids can create a large-scale painting with their movements, try their hand at pop ‘n’ lock with stop motion animation, and even create in a tech-focused maker space.

San Antonio is lucky to have The DoSeum! It’s a rare weekend that you won’t find an ACMB team member and family playing somewhere in The DoSeum, and we are thrilled to try out the new programs this year.

Cheers to 2017 at The DoSeum (photo taken at ReDo Recess on the coolest tree seat ever)
Michelle
Michelle moved to San Antonio eight years ago and yet still feels like a newcomer. She is rather smitten with the Alamo City. She and her husband met at Texas A&M and started their marriage in Minnesota. After six years of very cold winters, they returned to Texas. Michelle has two kids (12 and 9), along with a very quirky rescue dog and two rather cute guinea pigs. A former corporate food scientist turned part-time yoga instructor, she still takes her food very seriously—she just doesn’t get paid for it anymore. She is fueled by tea, cold brew coffee, yoga, dog walking, books and quickly googling answers to her kids eleventy million questions.
