Spring & Easter Events: Egg Hunts and So Much More!

Easter is April 16, but there are plenty of egg hunts and spring events taking place before then. Just take a look at this list we’ve compiled with over 20 happenings in San Antonio and the surrounding area! Most are free, but a few others require tickets or admission.

Saturday, March 25

Spring Family Festival, 10:00 A.M.–12:00 P.M. at Herff Farm (Boerne)—Presented by Cibolo Nature Center. Plenty of activities for kids and workshops for adults, plus traditional egg hunts and bunny photos. Registration is $5 per person or $10 per family.

Saturday, April 1

The Easter Bunny is Here!, 1:00–4:00 P.M. at The Purple Chair (New Braunfels)—The Easter Bunny is visiting. Don’t forget your cameras! Free.

Flashlight Egg Hunt, 7:30–8:30 P.M. at Cypress Bend Park (New Braunfels)—An illuminating challenge! Each hunter should bring his/her own flashlight and basket. There will be prize eggs and lots of treats. Children will be divided into age groups. Activities begin at 7:30 P.M., hunt begins at 7:45 P.M. Pre-registration only; no on-site registration. Call (830) 221-4370 to register. Early registration (on or after March 24) is $7 per egg hunter. Registration on day of event ends at noon and is $10 per egg hunter.

April 1 & 2

Spring Eggstravaganza, Saturday, 10:00 A.M.–5:00 P.M., and Sunday, 12:00–5:00 P.M. at Devine Acres Farms (Devine)—Admission includes 34+ attractions, including birdhouse painting, storytelling and music, wands to dip in bubble troughs, hayrides and barnyard friends, catch ‘n’ release fishing, and more. Egg hunts on the hour, plus photo ops with the official Devine Acres Country Bunny. Admission is $10 per person for ages 3–64; free for children 2 and under. Senior and military discounts available.

Sunday, April 2

ACMB Primavera: A Spring Family Event & Egg Hunt, 1:00–4:00 P.M. at the Witte Museum—San Antonio families can expect age-divided egg hunts, delicious food, activities perfect for kids of all ages, and plenty of fun! Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children older than one year. TICKETS HAVE SOLD OUT! Please join the wait list if you are interested in being notified should tickets become available.

Saturday, April 8

Easter EGGstravaganza, 10:00 A.M.–3:00 P.M. at Traders Village—Four egg hunts by age group, 30,000 eggs. Plus, pictures with the Easter Bunny, lots of door prizes, and free carnival rides. Just $4 per car to park. More information coming soon. Free.

Underwater Easter Egg Hunt, 10:00 A.M.–12:30 P.M. at San Antonio Natatorium—Open to ages 5-12 years old with age-specific swimming schedule throughout the event. Register before or on the day of the event at the natatorium. Registration is $2 per child.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt, 10:30 A.M. at Boerne City Lake Park (Boerne)–Festivities include pictures with the Easter Bunny, inflatable obstacle course, face painting, and kids’ crafts. Egg hunt at 11:15 A.M. sharp with more than 15,000 stuffed eggs! Mobile food vendors will be available. Please leave pets at home. All parking fees at the lake will be waived until noon.

April 8 & 9

Easter Activities at Bass Pro Shops—Three different crafts available on separate days. Free photo with the Easter Bunny at designated times each day of the week. Easter egg hunt for ages 2–10 on April 15 at 2:00 P.M.; registration begins at 1:30 P.M. Free.

Sunday, April 9

5th Annual LGBTQ+ Community Easter Celebration, 1:00–3:00 P.M. at Woodlawn Lake Park Island House—Grab the kids and animals and come out for a family-friendly afternoon of Spring Easter fun! Many San Antonio area LGBTQ+ organizations are working together to help LGBTQ and ally families form lasting friendships and networks. There will be games and activities for kids and kids at heart. Hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be served beginning at 1:00 P.M. followed by an Easter egg hunt. RSVP requested for accurate count, but tickets are not required to attend. Free.

LULAC District XV Easter Egg Hunt, 1:00 P.M. at San Pedro Springs Park—Hosted Carolyn Limon. Only the first 300 children ages 10 and under
will receive a basket. Free.

Easter Egg Hunt & Croquet Tournament, 1:00–4:00 P.M. at Blessed Sacrament Academy—An egg-citing family fun-filled day with food, music, and an egg hunt for children 9 months to 10 years, plus an old-fashioned croquet tournament for kids and their families. Free.

Wednesday, April 12

Egg Stravaganza, 6:00–7:30 P.M. at New Braunfels Parks & Recreation (New Braunfels)—Bring your family to the seventh annual Egg-Stravaganza event. Families can dye, design, and decorate eggs at the design and dying stations. Bring a dozen hard-boiled eggs (eggs must be room temperature to decorate). $4 per person.

Friday, April 14

Easter Egg Hunt, 10:45 A.M.–3:30 P.M. at Pump It Up—There will be two egg hunts: ages 5 & under from 10:45 A.M.–12:45 P.M. and children ages 6+ from 1:30–3:00 P.M. Enjoy gigantic inflatables, glow lights, a special craft, pizza, beverages, and a sweet treat. Admission per child is $20 plus tax on day of event. Make your pre-paid registration by April 13 to save $2. Each adult with paid child is free; additional adults, $3. Space is limited; online reservation suggested.

YMCA Community Easter Egg Hunt, 6:15–8:15 P.M. at Mays Family YMCA at Stone Oak—Family fun with the Easter Bunny. Bring your Easter basket and be ready for an egg hunt and nice picture with the Easter Bunny. Open to the entire community. RSVP by calling (210) 497-7088.

April 14–16

Easter Weekend at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort (Canyon Lake)—A basket full of love from Yogi Bear™, Cindy Bear™, and Boo Boo™! Celebrate Easter with age-appropriate egg hunts (call ahead for information), site decorating contest, and some cute spring crafts. All-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on Sunday morning. Two-night minimum to book during this weekend.

Easter at Mo-Ranch at Mo-Ranch—Share the holiday weekend with relatives and friends. Enjoy all-inclusive activities happening all weekend long. Weekend highlights include outdoor excitement, an Easter egg hunt, arts and crafts, worship services, hay rides, ropes course, mouthwatering BBQ served on Saturday evening, Sunrise Service on Sunday morning, and the famous Easter buffet for lunch. Saturday, April 15

Easter Egg Hunt, 9:00–11:00 A.M. at Morgan’s Wonderland—Egg hunt for ages 12 and under. Lots of fun activities including: Wonderland Street Parade, Bunny Hop Dance Party, photos with Joy the Butterfly, face painting, DJ, and plenty of games. Park hours are 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. and rides open at 11 A.M. Admission is $7 per person (4/15/17 only), special needs and children under 2 are free.

PEEPS® Easter Egg Hunt Celebration at Six Flags Fiesta Texas—Enjoy a special Easter egg hunt event before the park opens, including candy, giveaways, and more. Children ages 12 and under are invited to participate in the egg hunt. To participate, guests must have valid park entry and must be present at check-in to receive their event wristband.

Community Easter Egg Hunt, 9:30–11:00 A.M. at Cibolo Multi-Event Center (Cibolo)—Collect eggs filled with goodies and have a chance to win a prize. Hunts will be conducted by age groups, so don’t forget your Easter baskets. The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance to greet children and take photos. Free.

Easter Eggstravaganza, 10:30 A.M.–1:30 P.M. at River City Community Church (Selma)—Bring your family & friends for a fun day of kite flying, Easter egg hunts, face painting, food and more. The Hill of the amphitheater will be filled with thousands of eggs, families enjoying kite flying, picnics, music, and games. Invite your friends and neighbors.

Easter Egg Hunt, 10:00–11:00 A.M. at Bonnie Conner Park—Hosted by LifeShare Church. Open to the community. Egg hunts for children in the following age groups: 3–5 years, 6–8 years, and 9–11 years. Reach out via email at [email protected] if you’d like to volunteer or make donations.

UC Easter Egg Hunt, 10:30 A.M.–1:00 P.M. at Universal City Public Library—Enjoy an egg hunt (open to children ages 10 and under), visit from the Easter Bunny, coloring contest, free face painting, refreshments, and an Easter craft. Goodie bags available for older children. Free.

Easter Egg Hunt, 11:00 A.M.–12:00 P.M. at Concordia Lutheran Church—For kids ages 2 years through 5th grade. More than 30,000 eggs, music, and the message of the Gospel all rolled into one fun-filled event. Don’t forget to bring your baskets. Open to the community. Free.

April 15 & 16

Eggnormous Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday at 5:00 P.M. & Sunday at 8:30 A.M., 10:30 A.M., and 1:30 P.M. at Summit Christian Center—The community is invited to join Easter Weekend services and family activities with communion, praise, and worship. Following services on Saturday and Sunday, enjoy an egg hunt set up for children in three age-specific areas (11 and under; 7 and under; and 3 and under). More than 30,000 plastic eggshells will be filled with candy. Other family activities include carousel rides, pictures with the Easter Bunny, music, food trucks, and more.

Easter Weekend at JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa—Guests of the resort can enjoy a wide variety of experiences to celebrate the holiday including Easter Sunday buffet and pictures with the Easter bunny for buffet guests. Reservations at JW Marriott are required at (210) 483-6622.

Sunday, April 16—Easter

Heather
Heather was born and raised in San Antonio and became a mom in 2013 and again in 2018. She never imagined she'd be raising two sons but is grateful for the opportunity! Heather enjoys the outdoors and even mowing her own lawn. She and her husband Santiago look forward to raising two feminist boys who will hopefully be better at Spanish than she is. Her professional experience since graduating from Tufts University with a degree in Art History includes working for a variety of arts and cultural nonprofit organizations, from grassroots to governmental. She spent a few years as a stay at home parent and is easing her way back into the workforce. Her dream job would be to work for Sesame Workshop, or President of the United States. In the meantime, Heather enjoys filling her family's weekends with the diversity San Antonio has to offer.
