A Hunting We Will Go: Egg Hunts & Spring Events in San Antonio

With the first day of spring just around the corner on March 20 and Easter on April 1, it’s safe to say spring has almost sprung—and there are plenty of events coming up to celebrate the season. Many of the egg hunts we’ve listed are free, and plenty of springtime events feature cool activities for the kiddos.

Wednesday, March 21

EGGciting Cascaron Coloring Workshop, 12:00–2:00 P.M. at The Alley on Bitters—Join the folks from Mint To Be Children’s Boutique and i pic nic SA for a hands-on cascarone coloring workshop, just in time for Easter and Fiesta. Bring your kids and your camera; these are memories not to be missed!

Friday, March 23

Water Easter Egg Hunt, 6:00–9:00 P.M. at Schertz Family YMCA—A fun twist on the traditional Easter egg hunt, in partnership with the City of Schertz. Bring your swimsuit and towels, because this search is in the pool! Hunt your Easter eggs, then turn them in for a goody bag filled with treats. Egg hunts divided by age groups: 2–3 years old, 4–6 years old, 7–9 years old, and 10–13 years old. Parents are required to be in water with children 6 and under. Children ages 7–13 must complete a swim test, and parent must be on deck. Open to the community; YMCA membership not required. FREE!

Annual Easter Egg Hunt, 6:00–7:30 P.M. at Davis-Scott Family YMCA—Enjoy an evening of EGG-cellent family fun. Youth 0–12 years are invited to find eggs, win prizes, and make crafts. FREE!

Saturday, March 24

8th Annual Easter Egg Hunt, 9:00–11:30 A.M. at McCracken House—Hosted by University of the Incarnate Word Alumni and Parents Association. Easter Egg Hunt will begin promptly at 11 A.M. with 1,000 Easter eggs. Easter EGGstravaganza, 10:00 A.M.–1:00 P.M. at Traders Village—Rain or shine. Four egg hunts, totaling 30,000 eggs! Plus, lots of door prizes. Egg hunts by age groups: 0–3 years, 4–6 years, 7–9 years, and 10–12 years. Pictures with the Easter Bunny at the train depot from 12:00–1:30 P.M. Parking $4. FREE!

Underwater Egg Hunt, 10:00 A.M.–12:30 P.M. at San Antonio Natatorium—For ages 5–12. Annual spring event with fun activities for kids in and out of the pool. Egg hunts will take place every 30 minutes for different age groups. $2 per child. 

Annual Easter Egg Hunt, 10:30 A.M. at Boerne City Lake Park—The festivities include: pictures with the Easter Bunny, inflatable obstacle course, face painting, and kid crafts. Egg hunts by age groups: 3 years and under, 4–6 years, 7–9 years, and 10+ years. Over 15,000 stuffed eggs! Mobile food vendors will be available. Please leave pets at home. FREE!

Children’s Easter Egg Hunt, 11:00 A.M.–1:30 P.M. at The Alley on Bitters—Hundreds of eggs filled with treats will be hidden on the back lawn, just waiting for local children to find them. Dress the kids in their Sunday best for pics with the Easter Bunny before he hippity-hippity-hops away. FREE!

March 24 & 25

Springtime Fun on the Farm, Saturday 10:00 A.M.–5:00 P.M. and Sunday 12:00–5:00 P.M. at Devine Acres Farm—Admission includes 34+ attractions, including birdhouse painting, storytelling and music, wands to dip in bubble troughs, hayrides and barnyard friends, catch ‘n’ release fishing, and more. Egg hunts on the hour, plus photo ops with the official Devine Acres Country Bunny. Admission is $10 per person for ages 3–64; free for children 2 and under. Senior and military discounts available.

Sunday, March 25

Community Egg Hunt, 9:30 A.M.–12:30 P.M. at Helotes Hills United Methodist Church—For children ages 2 to 11 divided by age group. Registration will begin at 9:30 A.M. and the hunt will start at 10:00 A.M. with a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny. Following 11 A.M. service, a community reception will be held in our Fellowship Hall complete with a luncheon, music and Easter fun. FREE!

Cibolo Community Easter Egg Hunt, 12:00–1:00 P.M. at Multi-Event Center (Cibolo)—Hop on over for an Easter egg hunt sponsored by the City of Cibolo. Egg hunts by age groups: Pre-K (0–4 years), K–2nd (5–7 years), 3rd–5th (8–11 years). Bring your Easter baskets to meet and take photos with the Easter Bunny and collect candy-filled eggs for an opportunity to find special golden eggs for prizes. 6th Annual LGBTQ+ Community Easter Celebration, 12:00–3:00 P.M. at Crockett Park—Grab the kids and animals for an afternoon of Spring family Easter fun with egg hunts, games, and activities for kids and kids at heart! Many San Antonio Area LGBTQ+ Organizations are working together to help LGBTQ and ally families form lasting friendships and networks. Food and refreshments will be provided. FREE!

Friday, March 30

Eggcellent Adventure, 11:00 A.M.–12:30 P.M. at Natural Grocers (Alamo Heights & NW Military Hwy. locations)—Eggstra! Eggstra! Read all about it! Join the most eggciting Easter egg hunt in town! Everybunny in the family is welcome. With a coloring station, toys, prizes, and eggcellent deals, this event is sure to delight kids of all ages. FREE!

March 30–April 1

Easter Extravaganza Weekend at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Hill Country (Canyon Lake)—A basket full of love from Yogi Bear™, Cindy Bear™, and Boo Boo™! Celebrate Easter with egg hunts, a site decorating contest, and some cute spring crafts. On Sunday morning join the all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. Contact the park for reservations.

Saturday, March 31

Easter Festival, 10:00 A.M.–2:00 P.M. at Morgan’s Wonderland—Eggstra special Easter celebration with games, karaoke, crafts, face painting, performances, and more. Free with general admission to park. 

Easter Egg Hunt, 10:30 A.M.–12:00 P.M. at Texas Transportation Museum—The event will feature a visit from the Easter Bunny and a story-telling session. This event is designed for younger members of the family, but everyone is welcome. The museum will have kid-friendly snacks available. Visitors will also get full access to the museum including unlimited rides on our full-size train. Admission to the Easter Egg Hunt is included in the museum’s regular admission.

Eggstravaganza, 10:30 A.M.–1:30 P.M. at River City Community Church—Hunt for 20,000 eggs, fly kites, picnic, enjoy games, prizes, raffles, face painting, LIVE bunny pics, and so much more. FREE!

Easter Egg Hunt, 10:30 A.M.–2:00 P.M. at Universal City Public Library—Enjoy an egg hunt (for children ages 12 and under) and visit from the Easter Bunny, plus free face painting, petting zoo, bounce house, inflatable slide, refreshments, and an Easter craft. Egg hunts by age groups, 10:30 A.M. for ages 5 and under, 10:45 A.M. for ages 6 to 12. Golden eggs feature prizes from HEB, Bahama Bucks, McDonalds, and Texas Roadhouse. Goodie bags available for older children. FREE!

Easter Egg Hunt, 11:00 A.M. at Concordia Lutheran Church—For kids ages 2 years old through 5th grade. Over 30,000 eggs, music, and the message of the Gospel…all rolled into one fun-filled family event. Don’t forget your basket! FREE!

Hippity Hop, 11:00 A.M.–2:00 P.M. at Brooks—Family fun at the first-ever Hippity Hop benefiting Brooks Community Foundation. Celebrate Easter with an egg hunt for kiddos, free pictures with the Easter Bunny, hippity-hop derby races, food trucks, and more. FREE!

Easter Egg Hunt & Kids Craft, 11:00 A.M.–3:00 P.M. at Spring Creek Gardens (Spring Branch)—Egg Hunt (reserved for ages 3–8) will begin promptly at 11:00 A.M. After the kiddos find all the candy- and toy-filled eggs, they can stick around to make egg carton chicks and bunnies and enjoy treats and drinks from 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. RSVPs appreciated. FREE!

Bunny Hop Egg-stravaganza, 3:00–5:00 P.M. at Landa Recreation Center (New Braunfels)—For ages 3–8 years old. Families can dye, design, and decorate eggs at separate stations. Bring a dozen hard boiled eggs. Eggs must be room temperature to decorate. Dyeing and decorating supplies provided. There will be stations for activities, games, and crafts and an opportunity to take a photo with the Easter Bunny. Register online. Registration is $5 per child.

March 31 & April 1

Easter Weekend at JW Marriott Hill Country—For resort guests only. Easter weekend brings bright colors of the bluebonnets and spring wildflowers. Experience an Easter Sunday buffet and then pose for pictures with the Easter bunny. Reservations are required at (210) 483-6622.

Sunday, April 1—Easter Sunday

Eggfest, 12:00–5:00 P.M. at University Bowl—Enjoy face painting, egg hunts, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny. Cost is $15.99 per person for unlimited bowling, shoe rental, egg hunt, Easter piñata break, and pin or ball decoration. Reservations strongly suggested. Reserve and get a $5 arcade card.

Easter at Mo-Ranch, 7:30 A.M.–3:00 P.M. at Presbyterian Mo-Ranch—Enjoy Easter weekend at Mo with mouthwatering BBQ served on Saturday evening, Sunrise Service on Sunday morning, and the famous Easter buffet for lunch.
