Our Epic Adventure at Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark

Alamo City Moms Blog is excited to partner with Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark to bring you this sponsored post.

It’s hot in Texas, y’all! I’m talking burn-the-bottoms-of-your-feet-if-you-don’t-step-in-the-grass kind of hot. Bake-cookies-on-the-hood-of-your-car kind of hot. Fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk kind of hot. You get the idea.

My family loves a good summer adventure, and we are always looking for water to fight the sun, both to drink and jump in. My poor kids require seven layers of sunscreen before we even get in the car to head out. But this year? We found the perfect Texas adventure.

Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark opened in January, and y’all, it’s absolutely amazing. I mean, who wouldn’t love a water park that’s inside so you don’t have to worry about sunscreen? I headed to Epic Waters earlier this summer with four kids in tow: my four-year-old and 11-year-old triplets. I wasn’t sure how I would navigate the space, but I was pleasantly surprised when we got there and saw how accessible everything was. We got a cabana, and let me tell you: you NEED a cabana, because it is totally worth it. Not only do you have your own space to retreat to throughout the day, but you have privacy when needed and a sweet waiter to help you out.

The park is the perfect size. I felt comfortable letting the 11-year-olds run wild and explore on their own, and the four-year-old pretty much had free reign. The kids’ section has all the bells and whistles, and the kids lit up every time a huge bucket of water dumped out on top of them.

I’m not going to lie and tell you I went on the big, loopy slide, but I did try to bribe my kids to go. None of us was brave enough to give it a go, but I saw a lot of people loop around the slide and shoot out into the pool, and they all seemed to have a blast. The triplets and I played it safe and went on the racing slide.

We all relaxed on the lazy river and must have gone around it 100 times. Half the time we went on tubes, and the other half we just floated with our bodies or tried to outrun each other, which I guess defeats the purpose of it being called “lazy.”

Our waiter brought us lunch in the cabana, and I enjoyed a frozen margarita from the bar. The food was so good that I’d probably go back just to have lunch there. We ended our lunch with Dippin’ Dots, the staple of any summer outing.

On our way out of the park we spent a few minutes in the game room. I had to cut the kids off or they would have asked to spend the night in there.

Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark is the perfect family adventure. You don’t have to worry about sunscreen, although you still get peeks of sun from the retractable roof. The food and drinks were amazing. The game room was great way to take a break from the water, and there was even a gift shop! There are lifeguards on every corner, and they do not take their eyes off of their designated sections. I was very impressed, and the lifeguards’ attentiveness gave me peace of mind. Epic is not a huge park, so you can feel good about letting your older kids venture out alone, and there are plenty of activities to keep the little ones busy for hours.

If you’re looking for a family adventure this summer, head up to Grand Prairie and check out Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark. I promise it’s worth the trip!
