My daughter has inherited my crafty genes and will “do projects” any chance she gets. We have piles of things cut, glued, glittered, and stuck together everywhere. I try to channel this creative energy into projects that are somewhat organized and, more importantly, will leave my house! Valentine’s Day provides a perfect excuse to use […]

Today I am sharing a few St. Patrick’s Day printables that I am sure will put a smile on your little one’s face. For this project you will need to print the bag topper. I would suggest printing it on card stock. This gives the topper a bit more weight and sturdiness. Cut […]
Alamo City Moms Blog loved partnering with Tracey’s Fancy to get the word out about her fantastic business! It’s all the craze these days: those cute wooden signs that adorn lawns and hang from doors of houses in your neighborhood. You see them in big box stores and all over Etsy, so we were thrilled […]
I promised myself I’d wait until my daughter starts Kindergarten to print the “first day of school” sign for the obligatory picture. Then I started thinking about printing all 13 signs right this very second so I’d be very, very prepared. THEN I got a crafty, itchy feeling and, inspired by some milestone cards, decided I […]
No more school. No more books. No more dirty tea… Wait, this can’t be sung about the mom who spent beacoup bucks or hundreds of hours on Pinterest to present her kid’s teacher with the best, one-of-a-kind teacher gift of 2015?! Yes, that time of giving is here: teacher gifts. But have you ever wondered […]
You know that mom who drives you up the wall? The one you love to hate? There’s always that ONE—who glitters things that don’t necessarily need to be glittered. Who decorates for every. single. holiday. Forget patting yourself on the back for festive window clings from the Target dollar spot; she has a chalkboard wall, a gallery […]
Have you ever taken something for granted because it’s close by? We live within walking distance of Barney Smith’s Toilet Seat Art Museum. It’s one of Alamo City Moms Blog‘s ABCs of summer activities, so I put it on my summer bucket list and promised myself that we would go before school started. And, we did it! It […]
I love scrapbooking. Preserving memories on beautifully laid out pages with perfectly coordinated papers and accents is nirvana for my creative yet slightly OCD mind. I list scrapbooking as an interest or hobby when filling out any “about me” questionnaire. I spent an entire summer morphing our spare bedroom into a “craft” room, finally putting […]
The summer between sophomore and junior year in college, my roommate Katie and I scrapbooked our summer away. In between summer school classes, we’d marathon-watch movies and cut, glue, embellish, and tape our memories from the last year onto 12×12 pages and put them in our three post binders. We spend a LOT (like, a […]
When I hear the words “kids” and “crafts” in the same sentence, I confess I always cringe a little. Many projects that are supposed to be fun quickly lose their luster when I discover that either (1) my child has little interest in actually completing them; (2) they involve messy materials and tiny pieces that […]
It’s a Catch-22: How do you expect your kids to behave themselves in an art museum, if they’ve never been to one before? How do you get your kids to go to an art museum, if they don’t know how to act once they’re there? My advice: Dive in. Expect to make some mistakes along […]
I’m willing to bet that every store you visit is full of Halloween decorations and costumes now that October is only a weekend away! If you are anything like me then you must be super excited! This is a time to be fun, spooky, and creative with monsters and more. Around the 2nd week of September, […]
